Huawei 3D printed covers

Project: Huawei phone cases with 3D printing.

Huawei has developed an app that uses artificial intelligence to enable blind people to “see” the emotions on the face of the person they are talking to, translating them into sounds. The Facing Emotions application, developed by the Polish Association of the Blind, uses the back camera of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro to read the emotions on the face of anyone with whom a blind user talks, analyzing their expression using artificial intelligence (AI). The offline learning algorithm used in the phone identifies the main features of the caller’s face, including eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth. Then he can determine positions relative to each other and identify a particular emotion.

The cover design from 3D printing was created by Polish designer Jan Kochański, and made by Rapid Crafting. Models of enclosures with 3D printing in DLP technology.

The selection of the appropriate technology ensured dimensional accuracy and aesthetics of the finished product.

At the moment, over 200 enclosures in 3D printing technology were made. Thanks to this method of production, it is not necessary to create costly injection molds. The number of produced models ideally suits the demand.
